How does your teacher demonstrate intercultural competence as he/she implements classroom management strategies?
My mentor teacher demonstrates intercultural competence by getting to know all his students. During all his different classes he is good at connecting with every student in the class and asking how their lesson could relate to their lives. Like for example part of his lesson he was asking students about what livestock diseases are common in cattle and horse. He personally asked one student what disease they have most common in their cattle herd, but then later asked another student about if she has had any of the diseases discussed in her horses. He stills shows interest in the students who aren't as involved in agriculture too, still asking them if they knew any diseases that animals and humans both could receive. By asking them these questions improves his classroom management skills making sure all the students are engaged and connecting to the content. Mr. Wiant does a good job about implementing intercultural competence int this classroom.
How does your supervising teacher demonstrate the humanistic tradition of classroom management to address the psychological and emotional needs of the learners?
Mr. Wiant fosters to positive relationships in ways through his students in disciplinary actions of the psychological and emotional needs of students. He makes sure that students have self-awareness and reflection of the content or discipline. Showing them respect so they show respect back to him while he teaches. Another way he show humanistic tradition is through FFA, letting students have choice of what events they compete in. Communicating with his students that they have the choice and have positive feedback from learning and growing from the event they pick. He hold the students accountable for showing up to practice or meeting in FFA as well. Communication and effort that students put forward, Mr. Wiant acknowledges.
How does your teacher apply the behavior analysis tradition to change or modify inappropriate behavior once it has occurred?
I haven't seen much behavioral issues in my mentor teachers classroom. I have a great understanding that Mr. Wiant probably applies positive behavior when inappropriate behavior occurs. He has taught for many years that shows he can handle many situations in his classroom.
